Written by Bester KayayeFDH Money Bureau has successfully concluded its Golden Reunion Promotion, a three-month campaign that ran from February 1 to April 30, 2024.
The promotion, conducted in collaboration with international money transfer giants Moneygram and Western Union, aimed to incentivize customers with substantial cash prizes and a grand prize of a fully paid international trip.
The Golden Reunion Promotion was designed to reward FDH customers who utilized the company’s various money transfer platforms, including FDH outlets, mobile, and digital platforms.
Each month, 20 winners received 20% cashback, and two lucky winners each received K500,000 in additional cash prizes.
The highlight of the promotion was the grand prize: an all-expenses-paid trip to reunite with a loved one abroad, symbolizing the campaign's theme of bringing people together.
According to FDH Money Bureau's Managing Director, Anthony Chimuna, the promotion resonated strongly with customers, driving a significant increase in transaction volumes across all platforms.
"We saw a tremendous response from our customers. The theme of the promotion, which focused on reuniting with loved ones, clearly struck a chord," he stated.
Chimuna noted that the initiative not only boosted transactions but also reinforced customer loyalty due to the reliability and competitive pricing of FDH’s services.
While exact figures were not disclosed, Chimuna highlighted that the promotion led to over 100% growth in transaction volumes compared to the same period last year.
This surge translated into a notable influx of foreign exchange into Malawi, addressing some of the country's forex supply challenges.
Looking ahead, FDH Money Bureau is optimistic about sustaining the momentum gained from the Golden Reunion Promotion.
The Managing Director emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards of service and introducing more exciting promotions to further engage customers.
"The prospects are looking very positive. We plan to continue offering reliable and convenient services through our extensive network of outlets and digital platforms," he added.
The grand finale of the promotion saw Thino Kandaya, a continuous improvement officer at Castel Malawi Ltd, emerge as the lucky winner of the international trip.
Kandaya expressed his surprise and joy at winning, recounting how he consistently used FDH Money Bureau for its convenience and speed.
"I feel very good to travel to Australia to meet my aunt. I never expected to win, but FDH Money Bureau made it possible," he said.
